Trieste's civic museum of antiquities, on San Giusto hill, devotes a section to ancient glass that offers a complete overview of its techniques: from core-forming to mould-casting, free-blowing and mould-blowing, "millefiori" mosaic glass, cameo glass and gold-band glass. It displays products of the Aquileian workshops of the 1st–2nd century AD and imports from the eastern Mediterranean, reaching as far as early medieval glass.
