National Archaeological Museum of Naples (MANN)
Naples
The MANN holds the most important collection of Roman glass from the Vesuvian area: cups, unguentaria and tableware recovered from Pompeii and Herculaneum. Its masterpiece is the Blue Vase, a cameo-glass amphora of the 1st century AD found at Pompeii in 1837: over the cobalt-blue ground, a layer of engraved white glass depicts cupids harvesting grapes among vine shoots.
